ASAP Teaching Artist Jill Wells designed and led a community art project as part of the Forest Avenue Branch of Des Moines Public Library’s celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King. The annual event takes place on the MLK Day holiday and features guest speakers, a reception, and—for the past two years—an interactive art experience for all ages, hosted by ASAP. This year’s project was a paper mural portrait of Dr. King, which remained on view at Forest through the month of January.
