ASAP piloted a new storytelling program in fall 2019, in partnership with Cowles Montessori (DMPS) and the City of Windsor Heights. ASAP Teaching Artist Maureen Korte led a group of 4th–6th-grade students as they learned how to interview six U.S. veterans, write and dramatize their stories, then plan and present a performance (including musical interludes directed by Natalie Steenson) for a large audience as part of the City of Windsor Heights Veterans Day celebration. The program was supported with a grant from the Northlands Storytelling Network.
