Come join the fun in the park at the 4th annual ASAP Summer Arts Camp!
Volunteers are needed for ASAP’s Summer Arts Camp on June 25-29, 2012. No artistic talent or experience is necessary, just a willingness to encourage kids and help them get hands-on with art.
The Summer Arts Camp is held at Evelyn K. Davis Park (15th and Forest in Des Moines) from 12:30-3:00 daily. This year we’ll feature an African Safari theme, and studios will include:
- Painting
- African Art/Mask Making
- Giant Puppet Making
- African Drumming
- Creative Movement/Dance
Volunteers can participate all five days, or for as many as they can. Orientation will be held Friday, June 22, at 1:30 p.m. at Evelyn Davis Park.
To sign up or for more information, email kelcy.smith@drake.edu .
The Camp begins June 25 with Walk-up Registration at 12:30, Studio 1 from 1:00-1:50 and Studio 2 from 2:00-2:50.
ASAP Summer Arts Camp is funded by the City of Des Moines Parks and Recreation Department, Evelyn K. Davis Park. Additional support for ASAP, the After School Arts Program, and ASAP Summer Arts Camp comes from St. John’s Lutheran Church and generous individual and corporate donors.
